Links to financial support

We understand that some students may be facing financial worries due to the current situation.

The UCSD Hardship Fund provides discretionary financial assistance to help students access and remain in higher education. The fund’s availability is not exclusive to the COVID-19 pandemic, but may help if the current situation has prompted a change in your circumstances.

Hardship Funding

Are you a UCSD student in significant hardship – either because of extra unforeseen costs you have to meet or due to an overall shortfall of income?
You may be able to receive help from the UCSD Hardship Fund. This fund provides discretionary financial assistance to help you to access and remain in higher education, particularly if you need financial help to meet additional unforeseen costs that cannot be met using other sources of support.

The fund can help to alleviate unexpected financial hardship. We particularly encourage students who may be considering leaving higher education because of financial problems to apply. Please note that you must be registered on your course and must have received statutory funding before you can apply.

Our Financial Support Fund guidance notes contains more information on conditions and criteria, as well as answers to your FAQs.

Please ensure that you submit all relevant supporting evidence with your application form, otherwise the assessment will be delayed.

Please let us know if you require further information by contacting the HE Faculty Office; [email protected] / 08000 213 181
