Train to be a Leader in Care at University Centre South Devon

The Clinical Education team at University Centre South Devon (UCSD) have introduced a new programme into the curriculum, Leader in Adult Care.

The Leader in Adult Care Higher Apprenticeship is a Level 5 Diploma designed to provide opportunities for those who wish to develop a management and leadership role with adult care.

The Clinical Education teams’ aim in developing this new programme is to improve the knowledge and skills of future leaders to strengthen communities and workplaces, while changing the role and our relationship with the adult social care sector. This follows the new vision for government from the Department of Health; ‘A Vision for Adult Social Care: Capable Communities and Active Citizens’ which, does not simply look to the sector for answers to the issues we face, but outwards to communities.

Claire Langman, Clinical Education Manager at UCSD, said: “this is a great new addition to the breadth of programme delivered by the Clinical Education Team. As a team we aim to provide opportunities for the health and care workforce development”.

Find out more about this course by visiting the UCSD website, emailing the Clinical Education team at [email protected], or by phoning University Centre South Devon on 08000 21 31 81.
