Working with industry
Our staff and students work with local, national, and global organisations to ensure that our teaching is at the cutting-edge of industry standards.
We work closely with employers to nurture opportunities for student-employer engagement. Advertising vacancies through our dedicated careers platform, collaborating on a project, delivering a guest talk, and advising on our curricula are ways that employers are currently involved with our programmes.
Across our subject areas, organisations are working with staff and students to provide innovative and enriching opportunities to prepare them for the future. Find out more about employer engagement in our subject areas below:
How you can get involved
There are many ways you can get involved with our programmes at UCSD. We welcome offers of guest speaking, placements, and hosting visits, alongside any other ideas. If you want to get involved, please get in touch with [email protected].
See below for specific ways we can help you help our students:
Advertise your vacancies, volunteering opportunities, and placements
We work with employers recruiting into a range of vacancies, including placements, volunteering roles, graduate jobs, internships, and local, part-time and vacation work.
Recruiting through UCSD is free, and can be targeted toward specific student cohorts.
Contact [email protected] to discuss these opportunities further.
Join our Industry Liaison Panels
Through Industry Liaison Panels, we consult employers, professionals and alumni on the design, development and approval of our programmes to ensure they meet industry needs in the local economy. Through our ILPs, you can contribute your knowledge and expertise to curriculum development.
Panels are held on an annual basis and invite employers to advise on topics such as skills development, course content, work-based learning, and resource needs.
If you would like to register interest to join an Industry Liaison Panel, please contact [email protected].

Get involved with curriculum teaching
We are always on the lookout to provide new learning opportunities for our students. Guest lectures from national industry experts, site visits to local employers, or online training with the newest tech are a few ways in which teachers have enriched their lessons with employers. We are particularly interested in extra training that provides certification or a qualification.
