University Centre South Devon (UCSD) had a record evening. Out of the 15 categories for awards, they received 3 overall winners, 1 overall nomination and 2 academic partner faculty winners. Out of the academic partner nominations, UCSD received more nominations than any other college.

Details of the winners are:

Catherine Smith (Higher Education Support and Wellbeing Officer): Overall Winner – One in a Million Support Staff

Dave Worthington (Construction and Civil Engineering Lecturer): Runner-Up – Excellence in Championing Career Development

Issy Hallam (Society, Education and Development Lecturer): Academic Partner Faculty Winner – Inspirational Teaching

Laura Roberts (UCSD Student): Academic Partner Faculty Winner – Course Representative of the Year

Stuart Collier (Animal Care Lecturer): Overall Winner – Sustainability in Curriculum Champion and Overall Winner – Most dedicated Project/Dissertation Supervisor

Kiesha Turner (Higher Education Student Representative): Gold Award for Student Voice

Launched in 2011, the awards, held this year on April 26th 2018, have grown year on year and are now a hugely celebrated and special event for staff and students. They are an opportunity to say thank you to lecturers, support staff and students for all their hard work and support, whilst highlighting exactly what students think good teaching and support is.
