Following on from the news of the proposed agreement last month, representatives from the College’s South Devon Marine Academy travelled to the acclaimed Paris Boat Show (Salon Nautique Paris) to establish the healthy future connection between the two marine education providers.

SDMA students can now look forward to added future opportunities to visit the INB, who due to their acclaim, enjoy a well-established network of companies and alumni, well positioned to provide employment opportunities for all students, apprentices and trainees.

Qualification Development Coordinator at South Devon Marine Academy, Paul Singer said, “The new agreement will bring huge benefits to both forward-thinking marine based education providers. Our students can enjoy the prospect of added overseas work placements to thriving nautical areas such as to the Lorient Sailing Academy and esteemed boat manufacturing city La Rochelle. Working closely alongside the team at the INB will also help open doors to the huge range of employers within the marine industry, planning the next steps for our inspired students”.

Established in 1965, and based in beautiful Concarneau, France, the INB has delivered exceptional training within the marine industry. Created and managed by sector professionals, the training centre is intended for young people keen to further develop their skills, and train for companies to gain employee skills.
