Level 4 Introduction to Teaching

The module is sequenced to build knowledge and understanding of key topics in FE and HE, before developing practical skills in teaching. The key topics covered include:

• Principles of instruction
• Evidence informed practice
• Roles and responsibilities
• Behaviour management
• Inclusive practice
• Assessment and feedback
• Planning for teaching
• Reflection

The content of the modules aims to introduce ideas and evidence-informed strategies that practitioners can use in their teaching and develop as they progress in their teaching career.

The course will run on a Monday morning.

The dedicated teaching team is experienced with expertise and knowledge which will be crucial to your success on the programme. They possess a thorough understanding of the latest educational research and theories. They stay updated with current studies and findings. to ensure the best possible outcomes for those on programme.

The programme is delivered over and 11-week period where there will be a mixture of scheduled lectures, tutorials, directed independent study and self-directed independent study to build 50 hours of study.

Those who have completed the course may wish to progress to other Level 4 or 5 ITE programmes at South Devon University Centre.
