Level 5 CIPD HR Consultant Partner

Although there are no formal entry requirements, it is expected that you can meet the requirements of the learning outcomes and can access the appropriate literacy and numeracy needed to complete the CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management. Therefore, you will be required to have achieved Maths and English at Level 2.

This qualification is designed for those aged 18+ who want to learn about people practice or leadership and management practice.

If English is not your first language, you will need an IELTS score of 7.0 with a minimum score of 6.5 in each component (Reading , Writing, Listening and Speaking or an equivalent English Language qualification).

To be awarded the CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management, you are required to successfully complete a total of seven units.

Timetabled sessions will occur weekly on a Tuesday.

The focus of the apprenticeship is primarily on individuals who are new to the role or are progressing on their career journey within a organisation. The purpose of the End Point Assessment is to assess whether the apprentice has met the requirements of the standard.
Within this, the assessment should:
1. Have maximum relevance to the real job that the apprentice is doing to truly test full competence in the role
2. Give assurance to the employer that the apprenticeship is being delivered in a consistent and appropriate manner

Assessment is the process of evaluating an individual’s attainment of knowledge, understanding
and skills. The CIPD will set coursework assignments for all core units. For the specialist units, centres will set their own coursework assignments, based on guidance provided by the CIPD.

At the end of the 24 month period you will undertake an end point assessment comprising of two areas: Consultative Project at 50% and Professional Discussion at 50%

This is a work-based learning programme where the period of learning, development and continuous assessment is managed by your employer, with support from a specialist individual Training Officer who will work closely with you and your employer to plan and deliver support and training.

You will be taught by an experienced teaching team whose expertise and knowledge are closely matched to the content of the modules on the course. The team includes academic staff, professional practitioners with industry experience, and where relevant, technicians. Postgraduate students undertaking teacher training may also contribute to the teaching of seminars under the supervision of the module leader. Our teaching is informed by research, professional practice and industry experience to provide you with the most up to date and relevant learning opportunities.

When not attending lectures or seminars you will be expected to continue learning independently through self-study. Typically, this will involve reading journal articles and books, working on individual and group projects, undertaking research in the library, preparing coursework assignments and presentations, and preparing for examinations where applicable. Your independent learning is supported by a range of excellent facilities, including the library, the UCSD Research Centre, and our course specific environments.

Successful completion of this standard will enable you to apply to become an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of personnel and development. Chartered Membership can be achieved through further qualifications or experience based assessment.

This apprenticeship could be an entry level role into a business, however, it is more likely to be a progression from a lower level role or apprenticeship, building on the knowledge and skills gained in that role or apprenticeship.

On completion of this apprenticeship, the individual will be fully competent in the role and this will give them an in depth knowledge of HR in their chosen option. They can then continue to develop in that option (perhaps through a further apprenticeship), or broaden their HR expertise in another area to develop their career. Separately, there are a range of qualifications available for further study up to post graduate level.
