Tutorial and personal development

UCSD is committed to enabling you to thrive personally, professionally and academically. You can complete your higher education qualification with the knowledge, skills and behaviours that enable you to embark on your next career stage. We will support you every step of the way to achieve this.

UCSD tutorial commitment

To help you do this, we support your personal, professional and academic development through the UCSD Tutorial Commitment for degree students:

  • You will have a named personal tutor, a member of the teaching team, whose role it is to monitor and support your wellbeing and development
  • You will have regular group tutorials with your tutor, following an academic tutoring curriculum to support your development of personal, professional and academic skills
  • You can access additional professional support for your individual needs via the UCSD Student Support Hub, and other University Centre and South Devon College services.

Students on non-degree Level 4 or above qualifications, your tutorial and personal development provision is outlined in your Programme Quality Handbooks.

For more information

Easily accessible signposting to aspects of personal development is available to all students via the South Devon College Personal Development webpage.
