Stepping Up to Higher Education
The Stepping up to Higher Education programme has been developed in conjunction with UCSD students and what they consider to be helpful to know before teaching commences.
The Stepping Up to Higher Education programme consists of bite-sized messages, online guides, workshops held in June, July and September and an online induction.
The online guides introduce new concepts and provide advice and guidance to help you make the transition to university level study. The workshops enable you to apply and practice the skills you need to be a university student and successful professional.
Referencing workshops are held in June, July and September, your personal tutor will also deliver referencing sessions during the first few weeks of your course.
The online induction consists of four steps, three you can start straight away and the fourth after you have enrolled. The online induction introduces you to the student charter, academic practice, campus and how to utilise the support available and accessing our systems.
Through the SDConnect app you will receive bite-sized messages containing short reads, quick activities and links to helpful information regarding studying in higher education.
Information on how to download the SDConnect app can be found here Messages from us | University Centre South Devon (ucsd.ac.uk)
Students who engage with the Stepping Up to Higher Education programme report settling into their studies quicker and feel more confident.
